Antivirus Wars: Which Is Right for You?

A few years ago, it was considered safe to cautiously browse the internet with no antivirus protection on your computer. Unfortunately, due to hacking becoming more advanced these days, hackers can infect your computer even when you aren’t browsing the internet. Yes, even just being connected to the internet without antivirus can provide a gateway for hackers to get into your system and steal important data like Credit Card info and take control of email addresses to send spam… or worse. However, having the right antivirus can prevent all this.

So, which antivirus is for you? There are a number of antivirus applications out there, but alot of them are either expensive, slow or bloated.  However, I have compiled a list of the best free, light, and efficient applications to help protect you against online threats.

  • AVG Antivirus

This is my favorite antivirus app. AVG is free, yet packed with powerful features and a slick interface designed to help you get what you want done done, quickly. I find that unlike some other software I’ve used, I can actually find what function of the program that I want to use with ease.   http://free.avg.com/

  • Avast Antivirus Free

This is another great, free program for home use. The interface is clean, and you can get stuff done in just a few clicks. When it is running in the background, it seems like it’s not there at all! Avast comes with many features, such as full protection against email viruses, which is really handy. If you need a free, lean and efficient antivirus, Avast is for you. http://anti-virus-solution.com/avast2/indexicc.asp

So there you have it! Some of the best antivirus programs out there for home use. However, for business, I would reccomend a paid program like Norton or Kapersky.
