Just recently, I bought a brand new computer and it is working great. I was thankful to be rid of my old computer and you should too! First of all I would like to say when you should buy a new computer. You should look at getting a new machine about every 4 or 5 years. Of course, If you are willing to spend quite a bit of money and want to be up to date, you can get a new computer every 2 or 3 years. Additionaly, once your computer starts to get sluggish and noisy or when the newer programs of the day don’t run well on it, it might be time to think about getting a new computer. And, that brings us to our next part, How to buy a new computer. Well, there are 2 ways to buy a new computer. The first one is to buy online. Buying online is an easy (and usually cheaper) way to buy. Another way to buy is to go to a local computer store and buy directly from the store. There are also other ways, like taking advantage of special television offers, but those are the two main ways that we will be taking a look at. Ok, now the third thing we have to do is decide whether we want a Mac or a PC. Macs are more expensive, but they are very powerful machines. If you have the money and you need something powerful for movie editing or something then you should get a mac. You can buy macs at apple.com or .ca or at your local apple store. The cheapest mac is the mac mini at just around $600 US or $800 CDN. Ah, the good old pc. If you are a casual computer user, or an extreme gamer. Then you might want to take a look at the less expensive PC. I am writing this at my Aunt’s house on an old Compaq pc. Well, it’s time to upgrade. She is a casual computer user and just uses the computer for email and basic web surfing so I would reccommend the cheap but powerful Dell Vostro (www.dell.ca/vostro). There. I did that in about 2 minutes. So, if you are unsure about what computer to get for yourself, just reread this article or email me for advice at techtalkwithchad@gmail.com and I will get back to you.
