  5. This does not work for me either .. I think it has to do with HOW the IT department blocks sites – here they use surf control

  6. Somethings of it does not work anymore. I’ve tried to make Administrator account on my XP with only using CMD, and it wont work anymore because Microsoft have uppdated Windows and removed the .Exe file who allows you to create an ADMINISTRATOR account on you system. But if you use the “Net user Name /ADD” inn XP you will get an account. But if you want a ADMINISTRATOR account, you have to find out the name of the ADMINISTRATOR account and do this.

WARNING : IF THIS METHODE IS USED AND YOU GET COUGHT, I WILL NOT BE RESPOSIBLE FOR ANYTHIG. AS SAID, THIS IS AT OWN RISK.

This methode is working for Windows XP (Vista is explained in the end).

    1: Open CMD
2: write this : net user NAME *
3: Where i have wrote “Name” Enter the account name of the ADMINISTRATOR and press enter.
4: Write this : “Shutdown -f”. This will log off your computer in safe mode tfor not get detected by the ADMINISTRATOR in later times if he catches you or he have any methode to change the password back.
5: Logg on the Administrator account and do What you want to do.

    Windows Vista :

1: Right click at the CMD icon and click at the mark named ” Run as Administrator”
2: Write this : Net user NAME *
3: Where i have wrote “Name” Enter the account name of the ADMINISTRATOR and press enter.
4: Write this : “Shutdown -f” This will log off your computer in safe mode tfor not get detected by the ADMINISTRATOR in later times if he catches you or he have any methode to change the password back.
5: Log on the Administrators account with the password you designed and do what u want to do.

WARNING : THIS IS AT OWN RISK USING THIS METHODE.

  8. lulz

I stumbled upon this gem on accident and just HAD to check the date to see when it was written because this stuff is simple. I’m a sys admin and I scoff at your simple countermeasures, but I will help you in your endeavor because I was like you once. First, yes you can add a localadmin account. But any sys admin worth his salt will push group policies to your machine that disallow access PERIOD. Not only that, but if I see stuff in the firewall that comes from IP, I don’t care what account is logged in at the time as long as I have the IP. You will probably have some legitimate site open as well. Maybe yahoo.com. Check a few headers, ask is this your personal email account that you accessed 15 mins before this rouge stuff, boom, ya done.

In any event, here is an easier way to add a localadmin account: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to bring up the Task Manager. Press Atl + N to start a new task. Type in compmgmt.msc. Boom. If its there, more than likely you don’t have any, or the proper, group policies pushed to your machine, or the admin didn’t remove it from the build. Create a new user and add it to the admnistrator’s group, if it will let you. Now you can install your favorite programs, but that’s about it.

Sometimes you don’t even need to do that. Renaming a file named ’setup.exe’ to ‘totally_not_a_setup.exe’ will bypass some Windows installation protections.

If you want the freedom to do whatever you want, simply remote desktop back home!! Bring up the Task Manager again and start ‘mstsc.exe’ and put in your home IP address. Of course you’ll have to configure your home network to let the traffic in, and give yourself permission to connect. The only thing you have to worry about is someone physically seeing you, or looking over your shoulder. Or you can use a Virtual Machine. Install VMWare Server, or put vmplayer on a usb key ( http://howto.wikia.com/wiki/Howto_use_VMWare%27s_VMPlayer ). You have to install an OS like WinXP or ubuntu on it, though, but its yours to control. The VM can get a different IP address and you can shut it down in a moments notice. You can make it look exactly like the main OS and no one will notice a difference. The sysadmin will be totally confused as to where this machine physically is… of course they could always do an arp request to see what mac id answers, but if the VM is shut down then it won’t answer! They’ll be clueless! Not only that, but if you use the vmplayer on a usb stick, you technically didn’t install anything on the computer.

An even more awesome way to get around stupid firewall rules (or to simply not have your internet traffic logged!) is to simply fire up a linux box or VM at home. SSHD comes installed by default, and download a copy of putty.exe (like 100kb) for Windows, and create a dynamic proxy tunnel on port 8080, and connect back home from work/school. Configure your school’s main OS’s internet explorer or firefox to use a SOCKS 4 proxy on 127.0.0.1 port 8080, and have access to EVERYTHING and NO FIREWALL will log it, except your one connection back home. If your on MAC at work/school its easier because a ssh client is installed on it. Open up a Terminal and type ssh -D 8080 YOURUSERNAME@yourhomeIP , then setup Safari or Firefox like before.

    Have fun exploring!
